Canadian Music Week (CMW) is the largest Music & Entertainment Convention in Canada with delegates representing radio and music television broadcasters, music manufacturers, record companies, music retailers and distributors, new media/internet producers, concert promoters, venue managers, music & video producers, recording artists and musicians. The four day event encompasses two complete Conference Events. All convention functions take place at Toronto’s Fairmount Royal York Hotel.
The Finnish… sorry CANADIAN Music Week is inundated with Finnish music: alluring singer-songwriter Astrid Swan (DRIVER 8 RECORDINGS), drag/industrial/disco/rock band Cleaning Women (BV2 PRODUKTIONS), punk rock squad Disco Ensemble (FULLSTEAM RECORDS), hard rockers Flylow (PAROLE RECORDS) and acerbic songstress Sara Nunes (RUBATO MUSIC) will further freeze Toronto’s sub-zero temperatures of Toronto with their cooler-than-cool sounds.
Disco Ensemble are also nominated in the Indies-gala in the “Favorite New International Artist/Group” category (other nominees include Annie and Figurines). The winners will be announced in the public presentation of the Awards on March 1st 2006.
