Eurosonic is probably the most important showcase event for the live industry in Europe. The event takes place in Groningen, The Netherlands on January 11-14. With around 3000 music professionals, 250 showcases from national and international talent, 100 panels and meetings and 250 speakers from around the globe, Eurosonic serves as a prime discussion and network platform for the international music industry and media.

An important element in Eurosonic is the European Talent Exchange Program (ETEP) which aims to promote bands and artists through festivals, radio and media in Europe. This program and the largest European festivals attending Eurosonic make the event very appealing for emerging talent.

Finnish acts at Eurosonic

The year 2012 will see four Finnish acts showcase at Eurosonic. The talents chosen for the festival line-up are:

• hard rockers Reckless Love (Universal Music Finland)
What more can we say, but... more, please. Instantly. - Classic Rock

• indie guitar poppers French Films (GAEA Records)
The best thing to come out of Finland since Jari Litmanen... -Compromise Music

• post-rockers Murmansk (Backstage Alliance)
Their wall of sound approach blows your ears out and takes your breath away, mixing Finnish melancholy, brooding distortion and a soaring rock aesthetic. - musicOMH

• and the talented folk princess Mirel Wagner (Bone Voyage Recordings)
It has those world-weary and resigned tones that make Billie Holiday and Leonard Cohen so appealing. It sounds like the truth... - Jean Ramsay/Rumba
