Finland Fest returns to Tokyo in May 2010!

Finnish companies have visited Japan since the 90s and Music Export Finland has organized Finland Fest since 2006. Dozens of bands and companies have travelled to Japan to get new fans and create new business relationships. During the years, around 100 Finnish bands and artists have released their albums in Japan by various local labels.

As in previous years, Finland Fest includes live music showcases and a business day. Friday 28 May holds a folk music showcase at JZ Brat with Frigg, Lepistö & Lehti and Sväng, promoted by The Music Plant and Renaissance Man at LOOP. On Saturday 29 May a rock/metal showcase at Liquid Room with Before The Dawn, Poisonblack, Tarot and Turisas, promoted by Creativeman Productions. Also, Finland’s finest jazz group Five Corners Quintet plays three nights at Blue Note Tokyo over the weekend.

Monday 31 May brings a traditional business day at Stadium Place Aoyama with over 20 Finnish companies (record labels, managements, publishers etc), meeting local music professionals. The business day is organized by Hotwire K.K. Finland Fest also includes seminars on the Japanese music market, presented by respected local professionals for the attendees from Finland.
