The ”Helsinki in Berlin” series of events is by far the most extensive project ever launched to make Finland and its culture, from dance to cuisine, better known abroad.
As far as music goes, there’ll be over 40 concerts with club nights for just about every genre you care to think of. There are also plans to bring Finnish music to many of the other major cities in Germany during the month of April and a major marketing push at the 2008 Popkomm trade fair in Berlin is a given.
Where these kinds of events have previously been directed at music business professionals, “Helsinki in Berlin” will reach out to the regular music fans in what is Finland’s number one export market.
The primary producers of the ”Helsinki in Berlin” series of events are the cities of the Helsinki Metrpolitan Area (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen), Music Export Finland and the Finnish Institute in Germany, together with the Finnish Embassy in Berlin, the City of Berlin and other partners.
Trinity Concerts will produce the Berlin concerts and the famous FKP Scorpio agency will be responsible for the tour and nationwide promotion.
