Puhujat

Jules Parker – PRS for Music
Jules Parker joined PRS for Music in 2007. He is currently responsible for artist relations, linking with the creative UK music industry, bringing new writers into the company and creating promotional opportunities. He works to increase the reach of PRS for Music -represented acts overseas with partners such as UKTI and various international showcase festivals.

He started his career as a songwriter and musician, working with BMG, Fiction songs and Warner Bros. He has written songs for acts signed to Universal, released EP’s independently and had songs synced to films in the US and UK. Previous to PRS for Music Jules worked with emerging acts at City Showcase festival in London.

PRS for Music is home to music writers, composers and publishers. Formed as The MCPS-PRS Alliance in 1997 with the PRS for Music brand adopted in 2009, the organisation brings together two royalty collection societies; MCPS and PRS.  They exist to collect and pay royalties to their members when their music is exploited in one of a number of ways – when it is recorded onto any format and distributed to the public, performed or played in public, broadcast or made publicly available online.

Angus Blue – Riverman Management
Angus started out in the music industry at London’s world famous Brixton Academy in 1994, cutting his teeth working in box office whilst also running new band club nights and helping with marketing projects, finally ending up as bars manager. In 1996 having promoted Placebo at one of the Brixton new band nights he went to work for their management, Riverman, a year later.

Predominantly a live promotions company until Placebo came on the scene Angus helped curate and promote MTV’s Night Stand shows in London, as well as day to day promotions such as Tool and Curve. He began an active role on the management of Placebo in 1998, ahead of their second album ‘Without You I’m Nothing’, for which he has continued to do working closely alongside side Director Alex Weston on a day to day role of planning and implementing album campaigns. This includes the set up of Placebo’s independent label as a platform to release their last studio album, ‘Battle For The Sun’, which they then licensed globally.

Angus has also embarked on various other label deals for the other acts on their management roster that has also included the set up of their own Riverman Records label. Releases include amongst others Colour of Fire and Alpinestars. Currently acts on their roster include SHIELDS, Evaline, OFFICERS, Jasper Steverlinck, Expatriate and Gary Nock.

Jonas Vebner – Music Export Norway
Jonas Vebner has a background in International Management, Cultural Management and IPR. For the last six years he has been working at Music Export Norway (MEN), a service and resource centre for exporters of Norwegian music across all genres and formats. In 2008 he opened MEN’s first international office in London to facilitate better access to the competitive - but important - UK market. The project was a two year pilot and was made permanent by the MEN board in 2010.

Still based in London, Jonas is also overseeing the recent establishment of MEN’s GAS office in Berlin. During his time in London he has introduced several new innovative, UK-specific schemes and capacity-building projects for MEN's clients. Day-to-day, he constantly mediates contact between Norwegian and British industry professionals, and provides consultancy and advisory services to both Norwegian professionals and other relevant partners such as the Norwegian Embassy in London; MEN administrates the Embassy's promotional support for the music sector. Jonas also founded (2010) and manages the Ja Ja Ja platform, encompassing a regular Nordic showcase night in London and an editorial website funded by the five Nordic export offices (NOMEX).
