Estonia honors Risto Juvonen of Live Nation Finland

The President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves honored concert promoter Risto Juvonen with The Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana. It is the highest class of decoration for foreigners who have rendered special services to the Republic of Estonia. Juvonen receives the decoration for 20 years fo work for Estonian culture. Juvonen brought a band to Estonia for the first time in 1980, worked on the Rock Summer festival in 1990, widely considered a symbol of Estonian independence.

Over the last years, Juvonen has brought to Estonia the likes of Madonna, Metallica, Enrique Iglesias, Rammstein, Depeche Mode, Elton John, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Lenny Kravitz and Kylie Minogue.

Risto Juvonen has been a concert promoter for 25 years, the last 10 of them at Live Nation Finland, but he is currently enjoying a sabbatical.
