GigsWiz launches in the US

We read Lefsetz over here and are thus aware that the US live market is one tough cookie to break. GigsWiz has decided to let money do their chewing, instead of just watching the cookie crumble. They are offering one third of the sevice’s 15% fee for every ticket the band sells via the GigsWiz widget.

The idea is that bands put the widget on their site, giving fans direct access to tickets for the concerts they wish to attend. The widget automtically sends alerts about upcoming shows to bands’ Facebook and Twitter feeds.

As far as the US market, the challenge will be getting venues on board and that’s why they are going after smaller veniues and festivals that have not entered into any exclusive agreements. Read more about it:
