FINNISH MUSIC HITS UK WITH CAMPAIGNS AND MUSIC THIS AUTUMN

This September sees Finnish music continue its remarkable year in the UK, as Sounds like Helsinki lands at In The City trade fair and festival (ITC) on September 20th. This showcase entity is backed up by a promotional campaign in co-operation with Music Week including a cd insert three weeks prior to the event (out August 30th).
The biggest showcase of Finnish bands in Britain so far comes hot on the trails of Finnish acts such as The Rasmus and HIM gaining top 10 spots on the UK album charts earlier this year and Nightwish topping the European album sales chart at the end of July.
Manchester’s In The City selected five fresh and timely bands to showcase their talents during Sounds Like Helsinki, an entity exploring a wide range of Finnish talent. On Monday, September 20th Bar 38 in the heart of Manchester will host an evening in two parts:
● Helsinki Action Night starts off with wildly groovin’ and endearing Tigerbombs (Johanna Publishing) who also have a new single out at the same time. Boomhauer (Stupido Records) will continue with their garage country punk. The first part of the showcase will be capped by the riot grrrl energy of Bitch Alert (Poko Rekords) who recently had an astonishing 28 show tour in the British Isles with a major push from British music magazines.
● Helsinki Club Night kicks off with Giant Robot (Stupido Records) alluring the audiences with their laid-back urban dubs and rhythms. The mesmerising RinneRadio’s (Rockadillo Records) nu-jazzy concoction of beats and lush ambiences will end the evening in an ethereal bliss.
