The dynamic growth of Finnish music exports is evident in the number of Finnish companies due to attend the Midem 2005 trade fair in Cannes, France in January. It is clear that Finnish artists are becoming more widely represented internationally.
26 companies with over 40 participants are joining the Music Export Finland stand in Midem. These companies range from indierock and pop, hip-hop, electronic, metal and jazz labels to music publishers; from state-of-the-art mobile solutions to established festivals and various artist managers like Eastborder Promotion and Sarabee Music to name a few.
The product line-up is likewise varied and of high-quality: there will be new technological innovations as well as numerous up-and-coming artists from the most exiting labels in Finland. To mention a few on offer: Love Music Publishing’s party rockers Tigerbombs, Poko Rekords’ UK-invading riot rock group Bitch Alert and Jupiter Records’ smooth groovers Quintessence. Others, like the legendary treasure chest of metal, Spinefarm Records and world music specialist Rockadillo Records, boast an impressive back catalogue.
