Amorphis, one of Finland's most influential and beloved metal outfits, turns 20 this year. To celebrate this respectful milestone, the band will play a number of festival shows around Europe, and headline a 21-date European tour in November with fellow Finnsters Ghost Brigade and Orphaned Land (IL) as support.
Amorphis willl also relase its first ever DVD, Forging the Land of the Thousand Lakes, on July 9th. The two disc spectacle features two full-lenght live shows and loads of bonus material, including a documentary and a plethora of music videos.
And as for the icing on the cake: Amorphis have re-recorded 11 songs from its first three albums (The Karelian Isthmus, Tales from the Thousand Lakes and Elegy), that put the band on the map with a bang. These revamped classics, boosted with a re-recorded cover of The Doors' Light My Fire, will be released later on this year under a title Majestic Beasts – Tales from the Early Years.
